The Instructional Division continued with the round robin scrimmages on Saturday. There has been much improvement on all three teams over the past three weeks. Kevin Pearson, head coach for the Stan McNabb Chevrolet – Cadillac Cowboys was singing the praises of several of his ‘Shinning Stars’ after the games Saturday. He said that running back Preston Davis had a very impressive day, as did wide out Ross Sloan. On defense linebacker, Dylan ‘Jack-hammer’ Pearson and lineman Montana ‘Pile’ Driver and David Mareno made several jarring tackles. David Gagnier had several solo tackles and Carson Bishop playing linebacker and Gruber Holden a lineman for the ‘Boys in Blue’ also had good days.
Mark Mullins, head coach for the SIM&S Cardinals, said that his offensive line did a great job as several of the running backs had big runs throughout the day. Malik Bean, Emanuel Williams, Steve Pursley, and Andrew Nelius all had runs of more than 10 yards. He also praised the work of his quarterbacks, Jay Phillips and Jack Uselton, as they both scored touchdowns. The defense was solid with Gage Morrison and Ahmad Taylor leading the way from their defensive line positions. Derrick Pursley, Dalton Jones, Chase Hawkersmith and Dylan McElhaney also had very good defensive performances. Jay Phillips also had an interception while playing in the safety position.
Mark Rambo, head coach of the ARAMARK Titans, praised the work of his entire team. He noted the big runs made by his running backs, Paxson Howard and Brett Schmitz, which was made possible by his offensive line. He also noted the great play turned in by his defensive linemen, Chris Nolan, Brad Belt and Josh Espy. He said that they lived in the opponent’s backfield all day. Coach Rambo also commented on the progress that has been made by Ethan Norfleet noting that he is his most improved player.

The single game in the instructional division had the SIM&S Cardinals hosting the ARAMARK Titans, the Stan McNabb Chevrolet – Cadillac Cowboys did not play. All the scoring came in the early part of the first quarter. Paxson Howard of the Titans got the ball on a reverse and raced 60 yards for the Titan touchdown, the conversion attempt failed. The Titans held the Cardinals out of the end zone and got the ball deep in their own territory when Ahmad Taylor of the Cardinals burst through the Titan line and blew the play up in the back field for the Cardinal safety. The Score after the first quarter of play was Titans 6 and the Cardinals 2.
The defenses took over in the second quarter and neither team could find the end zone the rest of the day. There were several turnovers by both teams, Bryson Triplett of the Titans had a fumble recovery and Cody Ridner of the Titans intercepted a Cardinal pass. The Titans win by a score of 6 – 2.

In the Instructional Division, the Stan McNabb Chevrolet – Cadillac Cowboys played host to the ARAMARK Titans. Early in the first quarter, Brett Schmit, of the Titans broke around left end and scampered 80 yards for the Titan score and Josh Espey added the conversion. In the first quarter, Josh Espey and Brett Schmit both ripped off big runs covering 23 and 25 yards respectively. Schmit added another score as he raced in from 25 yards out and Espey added the conversion. The Titans lead was 14 – 0 after one quarter.
In the second quarter, the Titan quarterback, Doran Noble scored on a fun covering 20 yards and the conversion attempt failed. The Titans also had a big pass play in the second quarter as quarterback, Doran Noble, hit Brett Schmit with a pass covering 40 yards. The Titans lead was 20 – 0 at the half.
Cowboy’s running back, Dylan Pearson, had several big runs in the game covering more than 20 yards on at least three occasions. Josh Espey jumped on a Cowboy fumble and his team took advantage of the turnover and scored on a 45 yard run by Noble. The Cowboys had several big plays in the third quarter in addition to Pearson’s runs. Preston Davis took the ball from Carson Bishop on the old statue of liberty play for a pick-up of 17 yards and Carson Bishop hit Pearson with a pass covering another 19 yards.
In the fourth quarter, Bishop hit Pearson with another pass covering 18 yards that set up the only Cowboy score of the day as Pearson rambled in from 8 yards out. Late in fourth quarter, Noble got loose again and rambled into the Cowboy end zone form 20 yards out. The Titans win 32 – 6.
